Ashley most recently graduated with excellence from University of Technology Sydney in 2024 with a Graduate Certificate in Urban Planning & Urban Design. It built upon her previous tertiary education qualifications of Master of Environmental Management from Charles Sturt University in 2019, and Bachelor of Science (Biology) from the University of Newcastle in 2016.

Ashley’s enthusiasm for urban planning grew from her studies, supported by a passion for sustainability. Contributing to development projects that will have a positive impact on the future is a key driver of her goals, along with learning from experienced planners and industry experts to more deeply understand the implementation of planning regulations in projects. 

During her studies, Ashley developed exceptional time management skills to maintain her academic successes while working in full-time roles, and built strong communication skills to ensure that customers and team members were all supported. A keen sense of detail has been reinforced from her previous work in radio, along with managing competing priorities and keeping track of project progress to deadlines. Volunteering with Landcare and social action groups has also given Ashley an outside perspective on the ways that urban planning intersects with a variety of stakeholders, and an understanding of development as seen by community groups.

In her role of Graduate Environmental Planner with JEP Environment & Planning, Ashley assists in the preparation of environmental impact statements, environmental management plans, waste management plans and other planning reports to support various development projects.
